The founding fathers were Deist in their religious perspective and believed that anyone that believed that God could be human was an atheist. As well as, a poor misguided soul lacking understanding and intellect in the nature of the universe. As can be validated by the writing of, Franklin, Jefferson, Adams and Madison on religion. In addition, the then very popular pamphlets, Common Sense, and The Age of Reasoning, by Thomas Paine. The founding fathers were some of the best-educated men in Europe during that era. And it was the secrecy provided by Freemasonry and fraternal organization. First in Europe and then in the frontiers and newly discovered lands.
