In the ancient days when ancient Greece was a simple democracy and ancient Rome a simple republic, the remainder of the ancient world governments were still theocracies (governments controlled by a religion), sprinkled throughout Greece and Rome and these national theocracies were 16 minor religious Messianic Christ cults or savior religions known as mystery religions. In many of these ancient world theocracies, a mystery religion in conflict or revolting against ancient theocracies or a king's enemies would be given sanctuary within his realm. Messianic Judaism was a prominent member of the brand of religions known as Mystery religions and it now appears that, though mystery religions were sprinkled throughout every ancient world culture, ancient Israel was the only nation or theocracy with a major messianic mystery religion’s motif.
